The 10-minute reset I do before and after flights

Hi Reader,

If you’ve ever landed after a long flight and caught your reflection looking… dull, puffy, dehydrated —

You’re not imagining it.

Cabin air has a fraction of the humidity your skin is used to on the ground, and it pulls moisture straight out of it the entire time you’re in the air.

After years of flying for a living, I’ve built a skincare/wellness routine around two windows:

Right before I fly, and right after I land.

Here’s what that actually looks like.

Before & during the flight:

• Add a barrier — vitamin C serum + moisturizer under my makeup

• Hydrate like it’s your job (because for me, it kind of is 🤣)— water and/or green tea over coffee, especially the hour before boarding.

After landing — this is where the real work happens:

Post-flight is when I actually see the biggest difference, so I don’t skip this part no matter how tired I am

• Korean snail mucin sheet mask to flood dehydrated skin with moisture right away

• Red light therapy mask to calm inflammation and help my skin bounce back faster — I just posted a full review of the one I now bring on every trip, including how it packs and how I use it:

• Oil cleansing at night to properly clear out a full day of recycled cabin air, makeup, and travel grime

• Retinol serum to help my skin recover overnight

• Hydration - water, sparkling water or coconut water (usually a combo of those!) to rehydrate, especially after a long haul flight

None of this is complicated, but doing it consistently is what’s kept my skin from wrecking itself after years of flying!

If you want the full breakdown on the red light mask specifically, I go into more detail in the video:

Hi Reader, It’s August and there is so much stuff I feel like I should have done by now this year. So of course, I’ve been dwelling on that. Until I got on the phone with a friend who helped remind me of all the stuff I have done. This year and in the past. In case you don’t have that friend, or simply don’t have the time to call - (‘cause that’s real, especially when you’re juggling trips, work, life stuff, and everything in between!), Allow me to be her for you - Reader! You have come so...

Hi @Reader, As anyone who’s recovered from an injury knows, little milestones towards your recovery can make you so incredibly happy. This week, I’m happy to say that I made some major progress in several areas. I was finally able to start driving again - just short drives but it's something! Independence is so important to me and knowing that I can drive myself, at least locally, made me really happy. And - I was able to go for a run. I probably could’ve done it sooner, but I had been having...

Hi Reader, I hope you had a great 4th if you celebrate it - or otherwise, just a great Saturday! I managed to have a good time despite a very unfortunate accident in the airport that happened two days before. Sadly, that accident resulted in a badly broken wrist on my part. my broken wrist It sucks big time, yes. But I’m trying to take this as some kind of a message from the universe, that I need to take a rest? Lord knows it’s definitely been quite busy lately. Though I can definitely think...
