Confession - I am not a naturally organized person. I admire organization. I really do. And I truly love the way it feels when I’m in a very organized and harmonious space. But I’ve come to realize, some people just have a knack for organizing. Like my husband, for example. He doesn’t have much free time, but when he does set his mind to an organizing project, it looks fantastic afterwards 🙌 Me on the other hand? If I try to organize something by myself, there will be lots of time spent looking at it helplessly, wondering where to be even begin 😩 Our surroundings have a big effect on our emotional wellbeing. In fact, a study at Indiana University found that people with organized homes tend to be healthier overall than those with messy or cluttered homes. And while generally, my home is pretty organized (thanks hubby!) - my closet definitely was not. As a flight attendant, I’m constantly traveling. And I’m frequently traveling back-and-forth between hot and cold places. Thus lots of clothes constantly being unpacked and subbed in with clothes for a different climate. And when I’m not flying, I’m pretty busy as a mom, a health coach and a creator. Thus despite my best intentions - My closet was becoming more and more chaotic. I knew that my closet had so much potential and yet every time I walked in - I had a sinking feeling. Even worse, I would spend ridiculous amounts of time trying to find things that I needed because everything was all over the place. I knew something needed to be done, but the scale of organization needed was getting to be way too much for my very limited organizational talents. Additionally, I had the bright idea to build a mini filming studio in my closet. While I like to film my videos in many different places - depending on the theme of the video - I felt that it was important to have a space that I could always turn to if I needed to film something quickly. Since I live in an apartment building, there is often random noise from outside and my closet actually has the most soundproofing of any room in the house. Also, since I live in sunny Miami, we have lots and lots of sunlight in our apartment (terrible problem to have, I know 🤣). It was important to me to have a space where I could control the lighting completely, so I could film at any time of day. I realized that I was in need of some serious help with the state of my closet. Enter my friend Jerome - professional organizer and space planner extraordinaire! Jerome lives In New York City but I managed to convince him to fly down to Miami (the fact that It was the the dead of January over there definitely helped to persuade him!) to do this project and video with me. Here it is! I'm pretty proud of the transformation. While I may not be great at organizing, I am good at maintaining a system. Now that I have a great system in place (and an awesome recording space!), I feel soooo much more at ease. And honestly, it's such a load off my mind to be able to find everything so easily! If you're In need of some organizing inspiration (and Jerome shares tons of amazing tips in this video!) Or you just love to watch organizing videos (apparently that's a thing?) - I hope you enjoy watching this transformation! 🙌 Oh and if I could ask a quick favor? If you can leave the video a "like" and even a quick little comment, it helps sooo much in increasing it's visibility on YouTube and supporting the channel ❤️ Wishing you a weekend full of ease and joy! Dear Reader, A week ago, I had to go fly another redeye flight to Seattle. (Yes I’ve been doing a lot of these lately, I actually like them! 🤣) I was in a crappy mood that day. Not for any particular reason, just feeling kind of blue. Inadvertently glancing at world news didn’t help much either :/ But then, something happened on the plane once boarding started. Two little boys came on the plane, wide-eyed. Their mom told me it was their first flight ever and I asked if they would like to take...
Hi Reader, In-person connection feels more important than ever these days. I’ve just returned from Boise, Idaho, from the Craft + Commerce conference for creators (how many C’s were in that sentence?! 🤣). It was my second year attending and it was just what I needed right now. With current events in the news seeming darker and darker, sometimes it’s hard not to get sucked in and feel like that’s all there is. But after a few days spent walking in nature, listening to inspiring keynotes and...
Hi Reader, A question that I'm often asked is - Are vitamins and supplements are actually worth it? And if so...which ones to take?? I get it. There's an overwhelming amount of info out there on which supplements you must take - and then others who say that supplements are just giving you expensive pee 🙄 (a catchy statement but I can quickly disprove that one with my bloodwork, which I do twice a year at a minimum). So as to which supplements you should take - for the most part that is...
