Hi Reader, In-person connection feels more important than ever these days. I’ve just returned from Boise, Idaho, from the Craft + Commerce conference for creators (how many C’s were in that sentence?! 🤣). It was my second year attending and it was just what I needed right now. With current events in the news seeming darker and darker, sometimes it’s hard not to get sucked in and feel like that’s all there is. But after a few days spent walking in nature, listening to inspiring keynotes and workshops, singing karaoke, dancing, eating and drinking with fellow creative minds - I feel like I got just the refresh I needed. It was a reminder that there is still tons of beauty, love, joy, and kind people in the world. And if you’ve never been to Boise, definitely consider adding it to your travel list! ✈️ My former idea of Boise was that it was… A place where lots of potatoes grow? (And it is) But it’s also a charming cross between an old-fashioned town - (to this Miami girl, the kind of place you’d see in old movie like “It’s a Wonderful Life”) - and a cool hipster-ish neighborhood like Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Also - Boise’s gluten-free game is on point! But something else that I love about Boise is how sweet the locals are. I had so many lovely interactions and conversations with the people who live there. Including this awesome bartender at a local brewery who remembers everyone’s name and orders (he even remembered my gluten-free burger bun from the previous day!) and always has a smile and a kind word for his customers. I have so many stories to share from just these past 4 days! I’ll also be putting together a Boise video very soon so that I can show you just how cool this tiny city is! I was also so lucky to get to bring my bestie Amadeo with me this year, making it even more special. We live in different cities (he’s in NYC) but we always try to meet up one way or another! If you’ve also been feeling a bit a blue or anxious about the news or even something else - Consider how adding more in-person connection can help you reconnect to your joy. It doesn’t have to be a conference, but maybe a coffee date with that friend who always makes you laugh? Or even going to a new class, spiritual community, or a local meetup for people with mutual interests? And if in-person isn’t possible - A phone or a Zoom call are always better than just a “like” on a social media post or…just doomscrolling (not that I ever do that…😬) A reminder to myself and anyone else who might need it right now - There is still more good than bad out there. And we can change up that life algorithm to see It, anytime we choose. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday! Amalia

Hi Reader, Yesterday I was reminded of a truth that I know but have been forgetting lately - The importance of gratitude. Bear with me - The past few weeks have been a bit rough. Not awful, but incredibly stressful. The kind of constant stress that becomes your new normal and can only end in burnout. It was a mix of preparation for my flight attendant re-certification (happens every year and it's a ton of work), health issues with my daughter, unexpected expenses, juggling childcare,...
Hi Reader, One day I was flying with another mom. She was great to work with, but she also seemed kind of worn out. She confided in me that she was really stressed (flight attendants actually confide in each other quite a lot, we even call it “jumpseat therapy” 🤣). She felt stressed from juggling all the things - three kids, flying part-time, taking care of a household. During our conversation, I mentioned that I am also a health coach. She let out a big sigh. “I really wish we could eat...
