Dear Reader, A week ago, I had to go fly another redeye flight to Seattle. (Yes I’ve been doing a lot of these lately, I actually like them! 🤣) I was in a crappy mood that day. Not for any particular reason, just feeling kind of blue. Inadvertently glancing at world news didn’t help much either :/ But then, something happened on the plane once boarding started. Two little boys came on the plane, wide-eyed. Their mom told me it was their first flight ever and I asked if they would like to take a photo with the pilots in the cockpit. They were thrilled! I started to feel a little better. Then an energetic young girl came on and excitedly asked me if I had any wings I could give her. I searched and found some for her. Her happy smile made me feel like a hero! Little by little, through helping one passenger after another, I forgot my crappy mood. A few days later, I was again feeling quite blue - This time, social media negativity got to me (btw deleting social media apps for a week is an amazing way to clear your head - I’ve started doing this regularly!) But there was suddenly a health scare with my husband that really shook me. (Spoiler: he’s ok!) It shook me so badly - that it got me out of my funk. All of a sudden, nothing else mattered. I went into full-on fix it mode, literally unable to think of anything else. And thankfully everything turned out ok but I was reminded of something that I’ve learned and re-learned many times - Being of service to others is a profound shortcut to feeling better. Our world may seem strange and unstable at the moment. But being of service to others - whether it’s bringing a smile to someone’s face, helping a friend in need, or just genuinely being kind - It always works to make you feel better! And it will remind you that there is still so much light in the world. Wishing you a beautiful weekend! 🌸 Amalia PS - I’ll be writing soon about an exciting new thing I’m putting together - check out the details here if you want a sneak peek 👀

Hi Reader, Yesterday I was reminded of a truth that I know but have been forgetting lately - The importance of gratitude. Bear with me - The past few weeks have been a bit rough. Not awful, but incredibly stressful. The kind of constant stress that becomes your new normal and can only end in burnout. It was a mix of preparation for my flight attendant re-certification (happens every year and it's a ton of work), health issues with my daughter, unexpected expenses, juggling childcare,...
Hi Reader, One day I was flying with another mom. She was great to work with, but she also seemed kind of worn out. She confided in me that she was really stressed (flight attendants actually confide in each other quite a lot, we even call it “jumpseat therapy” 🤣). She felt stressed from juggling all the things - three kids, flying part-time, taking care of a household. During our conversation, I mentioned that I am also a health coach. She let out a big sigh. “I really wish we could eat...
